Ștefan – Adrian ROȘEANU is the new President of the Railway Reform Authority

The Railway Reform  Authority (RRA) informs that, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, the interim Prime Minister Florin CÎȚU appointed, at the proposal of the interim Minister of Transport, Mr. ȘTEFAN – ADRIAN ROȘEANU as President of the RRA, with the rank of Secretary of State.

The new President of the Railway Reform  Authority is a graduate of the University of Bucharest and a graduate of a master’s degree at the Technical University of Constructions of Bucharest. He has a rich experience in communication, management and European projects, obtained in over 15 years of activity in the private and public environment.

His European experience also includes his work as a member of the Railway Strategy Platform, a working group set up by the European Commission to discuss the problems of the European railway sector and with the support of the Romanian Railway Industry Association (IDA) he was one of the initiators of the Romanian Railway Platform 2020 and of the Romanian Pro Rail Alliance.

Until his appointment, Mr. Ştefan-Adrian Roşeanu was the coordinator of the Bucharest-Ilfov Train/Metropolitan project, which involves the development of a service of general economic interest in the field of public passenger transport serving the administrative territory of the Capital and its functional urban area, using conventional railway lines, dedicated railway lines, a combination thereof or a combination of railway lines and those intended for tram or subway vehicles.

The conclusion of the contract evaluation procedure for the 20 inter-regional units (EMU-IR), as well as finalizing the public passenger service contracts for 2022, are the priorities assumed within the mandate, by the new president of the RRA.
