The Railway Reform Authority (ARF) informs that yesterday, July 31, 2023, the Evaluation Committee appointed in the tender for th procurement of 12 hydrogen fuel cell electric traction units, held a meeting to open the submitted bids.

Thus, the company that submitted the documentation is the association formed by S.C. ALSTOM TRANSPORT S.A. (leader) and Linde Gaz Romania S.R.L. (associate).

The value of the procurement is between RON 2,446,534,076.64 excluding VAT and RON 4,168,505,273.28 excluding VAT, depending on the duration of the services related to the contract – 15 and 30 years respectively, and the duration of the contract will be 213 months.

The 12 railcars will be used for the routes under public service contracts, on the non-electrified lines Bucharest – Pitești, with extension to Piatra Olt – Craiova, Bucharest – Henri Coandă Airport, Bucharest – Târgoviște, Bucharest – Pitești – Curtea de Argeș, contracts awarded to rail transport operators, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 1370/2007/EC, as amended and according to Romanian legislation.

The financing of the project is provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, “Component 4 – Sustainable Transport” and from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, within the limits of the amounts approved annually with this destination, according to the public investment programs, approved according to the law.

Following the opening of the offer, the commission will start its evaluation, in accordance with the legal provisions in force and the requirements of the Technical specifications.
